Toyota i-Road Vehicles is the latest evolution in urban mobility!

Within the next decade it’s projected that most of the world’s major urban cities will face a drastic explosion in population, that means a significantly larger amount of people crammed into smaller spaces and increased traffic congestion in major cities that are already overpopulated.  Toyota i-Road is positioning itself for this eventuality with a unique concept for urban transport.

Toyota i-Road is a revolutionary new concept in urban mobility that combines the comfort of a car with the versatility of a motorbike.  Designed to be environmentally friendly, the i-Road is powered by two electric motors with lithium-ion batteries that allow the vehicle to travel up to 31 miles (50km) on one charge at a constant speed of 19m/h (30km/h).  Operating the i-Road in urban areas has been likened to skiing, with the left and right front wheels moving up and down independently synchronized in response to the driver’s steering.

The vehicle automatically selects the optimal lean angle to allow the driver to engage corners smoothly and zip in and out of traffic on crowded roads just like a motorbike.  At only 870mm wide the vehicle can be parked in tight spaces and enables easy handling in confined spaces.  Enjoy the convenience of a motorbike with the comfort and stability of a car, the i-Road promises to be as easy to ride as a motorbike except the rider is enclosed in a comfortable cabin with no need for a helmet.

Moreover, the vehicle balances itself during turns and maintains stability on curves, slopes and uneven surfaces. The learning curve is easy with this vehicle, unlike riding a motorbike where the rider has to learn how to balance the bike and negotiate turns safely, as long as you can drive a car, you can operate the i-Road safely and comfortably.
