The Renault Niagara Concept is a Bold Step That Aims to Repurpose an Ailing French Brand

The once renowned French automaker Renault is aiming to rebrand its image and increase its global sales with the new Renault Niagara Concept. The Niagara departs from traditional Renault styling and incorportates features more typical with American truck brands.

The vehicle is a blend between an SUV and a pickup truck with an extremely rugged appearance. With eye-catching colors, split LED lights, an aggressive front grille and monster tires, it’s clearly aimed towards the younger generation of adventure seekers.

The truck is built on Renault’s new modular chassis that is meant to be the base frame for several body styles. Under the hood is a hybrid self-charging electric motor that powers the rear axle while a gasoline engine powers the front wheel. The new Renault Niagara is a bold step to rebrand an ailing French brand with the hopes of competing with more established models like the Ford Maverick and Ford Ram trucks.
