Jetka PHA-ZE 100 is an All-Electric Seaplane That Will Cruise for 100 Miles on a Single Charge

By the late 1930’s seaplanes were among the largest and fastest aircrafts in the world. In fact the entire decade of the 30’s saw a rapid rise in seaplanes thanks to their enormous size and ability to land virtually anwhere there is water. After the second world war, seaplanes began to quickly vanish from the aviation scene and today only a handful of seaplanes are still operational the world over.

Switzerland based, Jetka aims to change this dynamic and resurrect seaplanes with its new all-electric PHA-ZE 100. This electric seaplane will be able to fly up to 100 miles on a single charge and will be used primarily for island hopping in the Caribbean or South Pacific.

Tourists will be able to utilize the flexibility of the Jetka seaplane to traverse archipelagos and access remote areas of the planet inaccessible to conventional airplanes. Powered by an electric battery, the PHA-ZE 100 will be 100% environmentally sustainble with zero-emissions and will be able to access areas with stringent ecological regulations.

PHA-ZE which stands for “Passenger Hydro Aircraft Zero Emission 100” will come in seven configurations that will cater to regular commuter and billionaires with private islands. It will have a range of 100 miles and fly at an altitude of 10,000 feet. Jetka aims to begin deliveries of the PHA-ZE 100 in late 2028.
