Jeanneau Yachts 55 Sailboat Offers Offshore Cruising Par Excellence

Jeanneau has introduced the new Yacht 55, the smallest in the series after the larger 60 and 65 was released earlier. The vessel was designed by the same team of Philippe Briand and Andrew Winch that designed the previous 60 and 65 vessel.

The 55 vessel features a modern monohull design built from vacuum-infused glass-reinforced fiber, self-aligning rudders and an in-mast furling mainsail and furling jib with self-tacking that allows the vessel to sail without a crew.

With a beam length of 16 feet, the 55, has enormous on deck space for an L-shaped couch, tables, sun pads and a transom that opens to a large swim platform. Below deck features large windows that provide an open-air feeling, a galley, dinette with seating, and a height-adjustable table with an owner’s suite.
