Drones the Size of 747’s Will Soon Transport Cargo Around the Globe

With the global supply chain in turmoil, moving cargo from one place to the other is becoming increasingly difficult and more expensive than ever. A San Diego startup sees a solution to this problem by using low emission drones the size of 747’s to transport cargo quickly and inexpensively around the globe. Natilus, founded in 2016, envisions a future where giant unmanned drones ferry cargo around the globe. The company has already received $6 billion worth of pre-orders for 440 aircraft. The blended wing design similar to the Boeing blended wing concept, will carry 60 percent more cargo than existing freight aircraft while cutting operational costs by 60 percent with 50 percent less carbon emissions.
