Bombardier’s New Global 8000 is The World’s Fastest Business Jet

Bombardier has unveiled The Global 8000, its fastest business jet to date. The new ultra-long range aircraft will enter service in 2025 and fulfill the desire of owners for a business jet with a range of 8,000 nautical miles and a top speed of Mach 0.94 which makes the Global 8000 the fastest business jet in the world.

The aircraft’s design is based on the Global 7500 model which recently attained its 100th aircraft delivery. The interior layout of the 8000 is the same as the 7500, with the only difference between the two aircraft being the powerplant and the flight range. The Global 8000 has modified GE Passport engines that extend the range to 8,000 nautical miles up from 7,700 nautical miles for the Global 7500 model.

From its inception, the 8000 was intended to fly farther and faster than its predecessor the 7500 model. Bombardier was able to achieve that with the same fuselage as the 7500 model, simply by upgrading the powerplant.

A few other things separate the 8000 from the previous 7500 model such as its Pur air circulation and advanced HEPA air filtration system. The 8000 will also fly at the lowest cabin altitude in its class of 2,900 feet flying at 41,000 feet. In addition, circadian rhythm lighting illuminates the cabin and special Nuage ergonomic seating tops out the interior.

For owners of the Global 7500 model who may find it hard pressed to cough up $78 million for the new 8000 model, the company is offering the ability to retrofit their 7500 models to attain the same speed and range as the Global 8000. Bombardier plans to phase out the 7500 model as the new 8000 model enters service in 2025.
