The Taiga Orca is one of many electric jet skis that we have seen over the last decade, the difference is the Orca is a fully functional electric jet ski that you can buy today and enjoy hours of fun on the water.

Don’t let the fact that the Taiga Orca is electric fool you into believing that it has poor performance. In fact, the Orca out performs some gas powered jet skis and with its 120KW electric motor that churns out an amazing 160 horses, it can propel you across the water at 65 mph.

It has no throttle lag being that its electric and that means all the power is at your fingertips soon as you hit the water allowing you to perform all the usual tricks you would on the water with your jet ski. While an amazing machine with outstanding performance, the Orca does have its drawbacks, one of those being the limitations of its battery life.

It’s only able to achieve a max-range of 28 miles in around two hours depending on water conditions and speed. That’s not too appealing when you consider that traditional jet skis can travel up to 100+ miles uninhibited by water or speed and the convenience of easily refilling them with fuel from a jerry can.

That said, the Taiga Orca is nonetheless a worthwhile investment if you want to go green and make your own positive impact on the environment. With 3 levels of charging capability, the Orca can be recharged up to 80% in only 30 minutes. In addition, a level 2 charger can recharge the batteries in 3.5 hours, while a standard wall outlet plug-in can take up to 14 hours to recharge.

The Taiga features a 7-inch center console display which displays important navigation and performance information. With three drive modes; eco, sport and wild, you can enjoy a slow relaxing cruise on the water or an adventurous ride popping over waves. The Taiga seats two persons and best of all, it’s super quiet and will not ruffle the feathers of those on the shore unlike traditional jet skis. The Orca is made of ultra-lightweight carbon-fiber material weighing only 739 pounds and features a front storage compartment and center console.
