The O-Boy Adventure Watch Can Send Distress Signals and May Save Your Life

If you are an avid outdoorsman, you are well aware of being in places where there are no cell towers or signals. This new adventure watch currently on Kickstarter can send distress signals and hence save your life in an emergency situation.

Designed by Hadrian Dorchy, the Danish entrepreneur experienced his own life and death situation that led to him developing the O-Boy watch. While it may not be visually appealing it was not designed for that purpose but rather to send out pre-written messages and your GPS coordinates to four personal contacts.

It works by pressing the large button on the watch to engage the GetMe system. The system then sends out the above-mentioned messages you have prewritten and your location coordinates.

Furthermore, if you are hurt, press the button eight times and the RescueMe mode is engaged which sends out a distress call and your GPS coordinates to the nearest emergency station.

To keep family and friends informed about your location, hold the button for 10 seconds at the start of your adventure and the system will send location updates to your contacts every 5, 20 and 60 minutes.
