The Diamond 58 superyacht as it is named is a 190-foot vessel with a hull inspired by World War II warships. The razor-sharp bow has a wave-piercing effect and slices through the water more efficiently that conventional bow designs. The vessel is being built by Damen shipyards which holds the license for the bow design and is the first shipyard to incorporate the new axe bow design on it yachts.

Reportedly superyachts with the axe bow design that are less than 262 feet in length are more efficient than vessels of the same length with conventional bow designs. To supplement the efficiency of the vessel’s hull design, the Diamond 58 is fitted with a hybrid diesel-electric propulsion system that can achieve cruising speeds of 28 knots.
