The Yeti 160E Electric Mountain Bike is Designed To Help You Climb Those Mountain Trails

Electric bikes are commonly utilized for urban transportation, but Yeti is out to change that with the Yeti 160E electric mountain bike designed to assist you on those mountain trails without tearing up your leg muscles. Not every avid mountain biker will appreciate an electric mountain bike, after all, what’s the point of mountain biking if you can’t take the trails using just your legs. Receiving a powered boost to your legs may seem like cheating to some while riding on tough trails. However, for the recreational mountain biker, it may be a welcomed help to have electric power assist you when climbing those tough hills.

Don’t be fooled, the Yeti 160E wasn’t built for recreational riders but for high-speed enduro racing in off-road conditions. It’s the culmination of a half-decade of research and named by the company as the world’s first electric mountain bike. Unlike traditional mountain bikes, the Yeti eMTB is a brand new bike with all new suspension, custom molds and a ride that will give you a competitive edge on the trails.

The new suspension platform known as Sixfinity features a six-bar design that is tuned for the added weight, speed and demands of an electric bike. The result is an off-road eMTB that will conquer more trails and do more laps with the rider being able to feel the terrain beneath their feet.

Yeti’s eMTB is powered by a Shimano EP8 motor with a 630-watt hour battery that propels the bike at a rate of 15.5 mph. While that speed may not be much, when coupled with the rider’s pedaling abilities, the bike can clear a lot more ground than traditional mountain bikes.

The 160E is aerodynamically sound with internally-routed cables with secure closures at all entry and exit points into the frame. It’s has rattle free operation with a chain slap protector that eliminates chain noise when rotating its 29-inch DT Swiss wheels with Maxxis tires. In addition, Shimano MTB drivetrain and new thermoplastic handlebars with integrated cable routing makes this one of the most precisely engineered mountain bikes.

The Yeti 160E electric mountain bike may not be the first choice of avid mountain bikers, but if you are looking for a well engineered bike that will offers some needed assistance climbing those hills then this is the bike for you if you can fork out over $10,000.
