The Nissan All-Electric Ariya Single Seater Concept Resembles a Formula One Racecar

Do you recall the Lamborghini Egoista from 2013? Only one of these Egoista single-seater V10 powered supercars was ever built, finished in jet fighter grey with an orange canopy that tilted upward, hinged at the front to reveal cockpit-style seating possible with a very special steering wheel, and it appears Nissan kept that idea in mind when they created their latest concept car:

The Nissan Ariya Single Seater Concept is a high-performance research, development, and demonstration project that demonstrates how the all-electric Ariya production SUV powertrain can be crammed into an unique single seater racing car chassis.

While specs are yet to be published, the Ariya single-seater is built of carbon fiber and features a dual-motor electric drivetrain, similar to its SUV namesake. This design might potentially be employed as a “pure single-seat racing chassis,” according to Nissan.

The multiplicity of complicated layers meticulously placed on the car is what you would expect from a true racing car, save from the V-shaped grille featured on Nissan automobiles. Particularly amazing is the copper and black color scheme, which is akin to the Ariya SUV idea from a few years ago.

The name Ariya is particularly significant since it signifies Nissan’s foray into the lucrative midsize EV SUV market. Its EV, which competes with the Tesla Model Y and the Ford Mustang Mach E, has a distinguishing coupe-SUV shape and a strong electric powertrain that promises acceleration comparable to its competitors.

Nissan plans to release up to 15 electric vehicles and 23 electrified models by 2030, including sports cars and supercars. Undoubtedly the future will be electric and the Nissan Ariya concept is pioneering the way.
