The 2022 Ford’s GT LM Edition is The Final Special Edition and the End of the GT Supercar

Ford is bringing an end to the legendary GT edition by honoring it with the brand new 2022 Ford GT LM Edition. Ford plans to build only 20 units of the new LM Edition supercar which will mark the end of a highly successful run that included a competition version of the GT winning the LM GTE (Le Mans Grand Touring Endurance) in 2016.

Far removed from Ford’s other high-performance products like the Mustang and the Focus RS, the GT is a genuine supercar among the likes of McLaren and Ferrari. As with those luxury brands, the GT LM Edition will not be cheap and will cost over half a million dollars per unit. It’s worth noting that a lot of the components in the new GT LM Edition are 3D-printed such as its titanium dual exhaust which sits below a 3D-printed GT LM logo.

The new LM has a carbon-fiber body painted in Liquid Silver with either red or blue tinted carbon fiber accents to honor the 2016 No. 68 Le Mans class winner. The tint will appear on the front splitter, mirror stalks, side sills, engine bay louvres and rear diffuser. Additionally, the 20-inch carbon fiber wheels will also have the color highlights and black Brembo brake calipers. The entire appearance of the vehicle from its design, to coloring and accents is absolutely stunning.

The interior features Alcantara-wrapped carbon fiber seats with the driver’s seat in either blue or red with the passenger seats being Ebony colored with matching red or blue stitching. The rest of the interior is upholstered in Ebony leather or Alcantara with carbon trim. A noteworthy element is the color of the start button which the owner can choose to match the color of the driver’s seat.

The new Ford GT LM Edition is not a car you can stroll into a dealership and buy. To own one of these cars, your name has to go on a waiting list and you have to be approved. With only 20 units being built, you would have to get in line very early since they are many with deep pockets who would love to get their hands on one of these.
