Taktsang Big Sur Property Perched on the Edge of a Cliff Goes on Sale for $25 Million

This amazing waterfront property perched high on the cliffs of Bir Sur California is on sale for $25 million. Inspired by a Buddhist Monastery in Bhutan, the Taktsang Bir Sur is a luxury property built high on the edge of a rocky cliff overlooking the vast Pacific Ocean. The property was constructed in 1968 with the intention of it being a hotel lobby for a future resort.

When plans for the future resort fell apart, the property remained as an unfinished addition to a defunct project. The property was later purchased in 1992 and transformed into a single-family residence. The 3,635 square feet home is anchored to the cliff face by massive concrete angled pillars rising from the radiant heated floors with the great room featuring a huge stone fireplace with open lofts.

Two bedrooms with glass ceilings allow star gazing while lying in bed and floor to ground windows allow for an expansive view of the Pacific Ocean. Additionally, the property has two bedrooms, traditional living spaces, a meditation cave, jacuzzi, a guest house and an amphitheater.
