The new GSX-S1000GT+ is one of three bikes Suzuki has released this year following a hiatus due to the Covid-19 pandemic where the company released no new bikes during 2020 and 2021.

The new GT+ starts at $13,149 and comes in two variants designated with a “+” sign at the end of the GT name. The only significant difference between the two variants is a pair of side cases that adds on another $650 to the price.

Underneath its pretty old school exterior is the same 149 hp, 999 cc inline 4-cylinder engine generating up to 78 ft-lb of torque. It’s built on a twin-spar aluminum chassis with fully adjustable KYB suspension.

The GT+ variant is built for long-duration riding with comfortable seating, taller handlebars, cruise control and a wide screen wind deflector, all lacking on the GSX-S1000 model.

Suzuki decided to integrate its first-ever thin-film transistor (TFT) display on the GT+ model. Although late in the game compared to other bike manufacturers who have already been using TFT’s on their bikes, Suzuki has nonetheless done an excellent job introducing it on the GT+ model.

The new GT+ is undoubtedly a vast improvement over the naked GSX-S1000 bike and will keep even the most veteran rider entertained on the road.
