Nuro’s Driverless Autonomous R2 Pod Receives Road Testing Permit in California

The latest version of Nuro’s driverless autonomous R2 pod has received permission from the state of California to begin road testing. The company has been testing the R2 with no driver and no occupants in three other states prior to receiving certification in California. While it will aim to avoid any collision as much as possible, if it is unable to do so, it will release an external airbag in front of the car to minimize head on impact.
