Dubai’s Downtown Circle Project is an Enormous Ring That Will Surround the Burj Khalifa Skyscraper

Designed by Znera Architects, the project will be an enormous 1,804-foot-tall ring structure that will surround the Burj Khalifa skyscraper and encompass all of Downtown Dubai within a 1.9-mile radius.

This magnificent structure will house commercial, public and residential real estate and will offer occupants a birds-eye view of the surrounding city. Znera architecture, released renderings of the proposed structure which the firm touts as an alternative to the traditional gated societies and high-rise residences found in most urban metropolitan areas.

In addition to commercial and residential housing, the project will also include a “Skypark”, an enclosed green area where outdoor climates are replicated indoors. Visitors to the Skypark will experience a wide range of natural habitats from sand dunes, swamps, waterfalls and canyons.

A structure as enormous as the Downtown Circle will require modern transportation systems to move occupants and visitors swiftly around the circle and this will be accomplished by a fleet of peripheral pods that would be available for passengers to travel from one part of the structure to another.
