Soel Senses 62 Electric Catamaran is an Energy-Autonomous Yacht With Global Range
According to Soel Yachts, the Senses 62 electric catamaran has been a smooth integration from its inception. For more than a decade, the Dutch yard has been attempting to develop and adapt the expanding capabilities of electric boats by incorporating increased efficiency into their battery lineup. The new Senses 62 is just another example of their design and technical prowess.
Soel Yachts has unveiled the Senses 62, an electric powered catamaran with some impressive features. It’s equipped with battery packs and solar panels that provide 50 kWh of pure green energy, which the yacht uses to operate and recharge its batteries.
This means the vessel is energy-autonomous with global range and while underway on the high seas, it eliminates the need to dock the vessel for refueling. When docked, it utilizes its quick-charging DC capabilities to replenish its batteries.
The Soel Senses 62 is equipped with two propulsion systems, cruising propulsion and power propulsion. In cruise propulsion, the system uses a 282-kWh battery as well as a 100kW DC generator driven by two 100-kW electric motors. In power propulsion, the system uses two 200 kW electric motors, a 150 kW DC generator, and a 424 kWh lithium battery pack, which allows the vessel to attain a peak speed of 14 knots.
The vessel features lavish amenities onboard with multiple lounges, two dining rooms, an office and an open gallery with a bar. It can comfortably accommodate up to nine passengers and three crew members.
Soel Yachts optimizes every boat for client needs and is driven by the goal of delivering the best experience for the owner, while contributing a positive impact on the wellbeing of the environment. That said, the company is taking reservations for the Soel Senses 62 with starting price at $2.95 million.
