The New 2024 Land Rover Defender 130 Outbound Offers Impressive Styling and a Powerful V8 Option
The Land Rover Defender is a very capable SUV that has been at the forefront of Land Rover’s North American lineup. For 2024 the company will be adding a new the Defender 130 Outbound to its SUV lineup.
The new Outbound will be very similar to its long-wheelbase counterpart but there are some noticeable differences. The 130 Outbound will not have the third-row seating that is common to the Defender.
The removal of the third-row seat adds an additional 50 inches of cargo room which will allow the 130 Outbound to carry more cargo than its predecessor.
The additional cargo space has latch points, cubbies, cargo net and rubber mats that protect the bumpers from scratches when loading items into the cargo space.
No third-row seating also allows the removal of the rear glass and replacing it with panels.
The new 130 Outbound will offer two engine options. The first being the standard 3-liter inline-6 that generates up to 395 hp, with an electric supercharger and 48-volt electrical system. The second option is the 5-liter supercharged V8 that generates 493 hp with 450 lb-ft of torque.
Land Rover set the new Defender 130 Outbound apart by offering four color options: Carpathian Grey, Eiger Gray, Fuji White, and Santorini Black.
In addition, a sliding panoramic roof with black contrast, Matrix LED headlights, darkened taillights, privacy glass and 22-inch Satin Dark Grey Wheels adds to its impressive design features.
Other features include a 14-way heated and cooled driver seat, suede cloth heated steering wheel, four-zone climate control and a uber-powerful Meridian sound system.
If you are a North American customer looking to get your hands on one of these, you will have to wait until the end of 2023.
