THE NEXT GENERATION MOTORS MODEL JZD COUPE IS A DELOREAN BY NAME AND INSPIRATION
Inspired by the DeLorean DMC-12, the new DeLorean Next Generation Model JZD Coupe concept bears the DeLorean name but is not actually produced by DeLorean. In fact, DeLorean Next Generation Motors is an independent company that is not affiliated with DeLorean Motors Reimaged LLC.
The new company was founded by Kat DeLorean Seymour, who is the daughter of founder John Zachary DeLorean. The name of the concept “JZD” is named in honor of John Zachary DeLorean who founded the original DeLorean Motor Company.
The design of the vehicle is inspired by the original DMC-12 with a sleek exterior fitting for a sports coupe with gullwing doors and a 2+2 interior layout. Interestingly, the design team included members who designed the original DMC-12, hence why the similarity in design.
While very little is presently known about the new concept we can expect that it will have an electric drivetrain like the Alpha 5 EV with performance parameters becoming of a DeLorean. The concept is expected to be completed sometime in January 2023 with a roll-out not too long after.
